“Apere ‘24 S/S” collection
Introducing "Apẹrẹ": Embracing Diversity Through Shapes. This collection reimagines the baggy pockets of the British combat wear. Each piece in the collection tells a story, weaving together the narratives of cultures and identities. From oversized jackets with baggy cargo pockets to billowy skirts, dresses and boubous that flow with ease, every garment celebrates the uniqueness of individual shapes and sizes.
This collection featured crop tops, long skirts, dresses, pants. We were inspired by lines formed by waves to depict that no matter where you are coming from…no matter the tribe/culture you come from, we can still come together at one point in peace and unity.
We decided to funk it up by using colours in trend - Magenta, beige, black.
In our usual practice to promote everything African and sustainable, we used a mix of African fabrics and we also used Asooke as the tassels to accessorize the pieces. They are absolutely unique pieces.
Our Asooke Headcaps also featured to celebrate typical Nigerian fashion.
